Card 1: Rainbow Ribbons

For this card, I started by die-cutting two white A2-sized card panels using the Ribbons Cover Plate Die. I then glued the two panels together, creating extra dimension in the finished card.
Creating the Rainbow Background
I kept the inset piece that was cut out using the die and temporarily adhered it to the center of an A2-sized piece of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock. This created a temporary mask of the center of the panel. I then ink-blended the panel using Taffy, Lemon Drop, and Splash Reactive Inks. By overlapping the ink colors, I was able to create a beautiful rainbow effect.
Assembling the Card
I removed the temporary mask and glued the die-cut ribbon panels on top of the panel, leaving a fun rainbow peeking out from under the edges.
Tip: Add a Pop of Color
Use a temporary mask to create a fun and colorful background. This technique allows you to add a pop of color to your card without overwhelming the design.
Adding the Sentiment and Embellishments
I stamped my sentiment on the leftover rainbow-blended mask in Intensified Black Ink and die-cut it with the coordinating dies. I popped up the sentiment in the center of the card using foam squares. Lastly, I added a few iridescent sequins for some sparkle!
Monthly Minis
In addition to the Card Kit of the Month, Hero Arts releases several Monthly Minis each month. Be sure to check them out here!

Card 2: It’s Your Day

For this card, I used the Layering Stencils of the Month: It’s Your Day. I ink-blended the sentiment stencils using Nautical Core Ink and the confetti stencil using Bermuda Core Ink.
Creating the Raised Dots
For the dot layer, I applied White Hero Paste through the stencil. Before removing the stencil, I also spritzed the panel using Ocean Blue + Gold Two-Tone Metallic Spray. Once the paste dried, I had fun blue and gold raised dots on the card.
Assembling the Card
To give my card a coordinated look, I matted the panel with both Periwinkle and Nautical Cardstock.
Tip: Use One Ink for Two Colors
Can you tell that I only used one ink color for the sentiment? Using a light hand for one layer and a heavy hand on the other layer gave me two distinct shades of blue!
