Stop Stressing Over Guy Cards. Try This Shaped Card Instead!

I’m sharing an easy way to add instant dimension to a shaped card, plus a simple “write-on” insert trick for clean greetings inside.

Hi crafty friends! Shaped cards look impressive, but they’re surprisingly approachable when the die set does the heavy lifting. For today’s project, I’m building a fishing vest shaped card, then dressing it up with pockets, bright zipper details, and a few “tackle box” embellishments for extra personality. This video was originally a sneak peek, but the Foundry & Field release is now live and available!

In the video, you’ll learn:

  • How to assemble a shaped card base with clean folds and sturdy adhesive
  • How to build realistic details with layered zippers and pocket flaps
  • How to add dimension fast by foam-mounting only the parts that matter
  • How to use small add-on dies as “flair” (lures, hooks, tackle) without clutter
  • How to add a hidden white write-on panel inside a shaped card

This card is such a good one for the outdoorsy person in your life, and it’s also a great “formula” you can repeat with different colors and different pocket flair.

If you made this vest, would you go classic fishing colors or something totally wild like neon? Let me know in the comments!

Happy crafting!
