Hi crafty friends! It’s time for another Hero Studio release from Hero Arts, and October is bringing the party. The theme this month is Deck the Halls with Disco Balls, and it is every bit as festive and fun as it sounds. Shiny disco balls, sparkling ornaments, and twinkling lights make this release perfect for holiday cards that bring on the cheer.

Monthly Minis

- Layering Stencils of the Month: The Tree
- Cling of the Month: Starlight

Here are the two cards I made with the kit and minis this month!
Deck the Halls with Disco Balls – Card Kit of the Month

For my first card, I stamped the disco ball from the Deck the Halls with Disco Balls Stamp Set in Intens-ified Black Ink. I filled in the insets using Cotton Candy Core Ink and Paradise Core Ink, then dried the panel thoroughly before stamping the remaining insets in Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossing them with Gold Embossing Powder.
Separately, I stamped the Santa hat and sentiment, coloring the hat with alcohol markers before die cutting both pieces with the coordinating dies.

For the background, I stamped the starburst image onto Dahlia Cardstock with Embossing & Watermark Ink, then heat embossed it in gold. I added die cut sparkles from the kit using Gold Matte Cardstock and arranged all the pieces with foam squares for dimension. This card feels fun and festive with just the right amount of shine!
Sparkle & Shine – Stamp & Cut of the Month

For my second project, I created a bold holiday scene using The Tree Layering Stencils and the Sparkle & Shine Stamp & Cut. I ink blended through each stencil layer with Arctic, Cotton Candy, Paradise, and Pine Core Ink to build the tree branches.
I then stamped two circle ornaments and toppers in Intens-ified Black Ink, colored them with alcohol markers, and die cut them. To create a realistic effect, I stamped the ornament chains directly onto the tree background, then popped the ornaments up with foam squares.

The sentiment, from the same set, was stamped, die cut, and adhered with foam for dimension. A sprinkle of Spectrum AB Gems added extra sparkle, giving the card a polished holiday finish.
