Card Kit of the Month
This month’s Card Kit of the Month is a colorful collection of stamps, dies and accessories to help you create stunning cards.
- Clear Stamp Set, 6” x 8”
- 15 Coordinating Dies
- Floral Circle Fancy Die
- 5 Reinkers, 1/2 oz. (Purple Galaxy, Blue Hawaii, Green Apple, Lemon Drop, Fruit Punch)
- Plastic Watercolor Palette
Using the Card Kit of the Month, I crafted a whimsical card that’s sure to brighten up anyone’s day!
First, I put a drop or two of each color of reinker in the wells of the watercolor palette. Next, I misted a sheet of Luxe White Watercolor Paper with water. I then used a 3/4” oval wash brush to paint each color of reinker onto the paper, overlapping them slightly to create a stunning rainbow. Once dry, I cut out an A2-sized piece.
Separately, I stamped an image of a girl with balloons onto a new piece of watercolor paper using Intens-ified Black Ink. I painted in each balloon with the same reinker colors, adding vibrant hues. Once dry, I cut out the image using the coordinating die.
To complete the card, I stamped the heartfelt sentiment “you color my world” onto a 3” x 4.25” piece of watercolor paper. I glued it to the center of the rainbow striped piece I had previously colored. Then, I adhered the die-cut image of the girl and balloons using foam tape, creating some fun dimension on the card.
Extras for the Month!
In addition to the Hero Studio kits, Hero Arts has released several Extraordinary Extras this month. These extras are available for purchase without a subscription. Be sure to check them out here!
This month, I also created a playful card using the Box of Crayons Fancy Dies.
I started by watercoloring six stripes of color using each of the reinkers onto watercolor paper. Once dry, I die-cut a crayon from each color. Next, I watercolored a light orange piece of paper. Once dry, I cut the crayon box die out to create a base.
Separately, I also cut the box die out from a piece of pine cardstock. I used a pair of scissors to snip out the center and snip off the top flap of the pine green die cut. I glued what was left of the pine green piece directly over the orange piece. Then, I stamped the sentiment “hello” in the open area of the crayon box.
To finish the crayon box, I tucked each of the crayon die cuts in front of the top flap and behind the box portion, securing them with glue. For an extra touch of cuteness, I tied a piece of twine around the box and tied it with a bow.
For my background I used an A2-sized piece of pine cardstock and a slightly smaller piece of dove white cardstock that I glued to the center. I adhered the crayon box to the center using foam tape for added dimension. I love how this cute crayon box turned out!
