Merry & Bright Ideas with Simon Says Stamp

Three festive projects, from a retro wreath to a charming holiday window tag.

Hi crafty friends! I’m excited to share a trio of clean and classic Christmas projects featuring the And Everything Nice release from Simon Says Stamp. I kept the color palette traditional with red, green, white, and a touch of gold, and focused on bold shapes and lots of crisp detail. These designs are perfect if you want something festive that still feels modern and graphic.

Retro Wreath Card

For the first card, I used the Retro Wreath stamps to create a graphic wreath that feels both vintage and fresh. I stamped the wreath on green cardstock with a sticky embossing ink, then heat embossed in my favorite antique gold.

In the center of the wreath, I added a bright red bow for contrast. The clean lines of the bow echo the geometric feel of the wreath, and the pop of red instantly makes the whole design feel Christmas ready. I kept the background simple with a white panel, then stamped the sentiment “From our home to yours” in crisp black ink beneath the wreath. Mounting the panel onto a red card base pulls everything together and frames the design without distracting from that bold focal point.

Merry and Bright Cover Plate Card

My second card is all about the sentiment. I used the Merry Cover stamps and die to create a big, joyful greeting that takes center stage. I started by die cutting the Merry Cover from white cardstock several times. I then layered the die cuts using liquid glue to get the chunky letter openings and frame.

To bring in traditional holiday color and sparkle, I die cut the Merry Cover again from red, green, and glitter cardstock, then inlaid the letters and open spaces into the frame. Alternating the colors across the word “MERRY” adds a playful rhythm and keeps the design from feeling too formal.

Once the letters were in place, I reached for the Merry stamp set and stamped “and bright” in black ink in the open space at the bottom of the panel. It finishes the sentiment and balances the large letters with a smaller, contrasting font. The completed panel went onto a white card base so the bold colors and sparkle stay in the spotlight.

Holiday Window Tag

For my final project, I created a detailed holiday tag that can dress up a gift bag or double as a shaped card front. I started by die cutting a large tag from white cardstock with the Rounded Tags dies, then ran it through my die cutting machine with the Beautiful Poinsettia Frame embossing folder. The raised poinsettias give the background soft texture and instantly make the tag feel more special.

Next, I built the window scene using the Balcony Windows dies. I cut the window and railing from black cardstock and backed the window openings with a soft blue panel to mimic a frosty winter sky. Once the window was adhered to the embossed tag, I brought in the Holiday Window Decor dies to add greenery. A die cut wreath hangs at the top of the window and a coordinating garland drapes across the balcony. Tiny red, gold, and white circles become berries and lights, and a red bow ties everything together.

To finish things off, I stamped “Merry Christmas” on a small tag and tied it to the main tag with red and white ribbon. A second length of ribbon threaded through the top completes the look and makes this piece easy to attach to a package or bottle. I love how the embossed background, bold black window, and bright greenery come together for a cozy, storybook feel.

These projects were such a joy to make, and the And Everything Nice release offers so many ways to mix clean lines with classic holiday elements. Whether you love a big sentiment, a graphic wreath, or a detailed little scene, there is something here that you can adapt to your own holiday crafting.
