Card Kit of the Month

This month’s Card Kit of the Month is a festive collection of stamps, dies, and accessories to help you create stunning Christmas cards.

  • Clear Stamp Set, 6″ x 8″
  • 16 Coordinating Dies
  • Hole Punch Die
  • Tree Window Die
  • Holiday Treats Words Cling Stamp, 6″ x 6″
  • Washi Sticker Pack, 22 pieces
  • Embossing & Watermark Ink Cube
  • 5 Sheets Each of Kraft, White & Red Cardstock, 5.5″ x 8.5″
  • Gold Embossing Powder, 0.5 oz
  • White Embossing Powder, 0.5 oz
  • Peppermint Clay Embellishments

Using the Card Kit of the Month, I created a card that’s sure to spread holiday cheer!

I started by stamping a beautiful Christmas tree in Intensified Black Ink on an A2-sized piece of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock. Then, I colored the tree with alcohol markers, adding vibrant colors and texture. Next, I used the coordinating die to cut a window out of the card panel surrounding the tree, creating a fun focal point. I masked the tree with low-tack tape and stamped the Holiday Treats Words Cling Stamp over the entire panel in a rainbow of colors – French Pink, Naples Yellow, and Egyptian Blue Reactive Glitz Ink.

To add some sparkle, I created a flat front shaker element using Periwinkle Cardstock and Icicle Sequins. Finally, I stamped a sentiment “let it snow” in Intensified Black Ink, cut it out with the coordinating die, and glued it to the center of the Christmas tree.

Extras for the Month!

In addition to the Hero Studio kits, Hero Arts releases Extraordinary Extras each month, available for purchase without a subscription. These products will be permanently available on their website, so be sure to check them out here!

This month, I also created a card using the Circular Grid Stencil and Holiday Assortment Stencil.

First, I ink blended a festive holiday scene onto Dove White Cardstock. I used the Holiday Assortment Stencil and masking tape to color each section a different hue – French Pink, Spanish Orange, and Egyptian Blue Reactive Glitz Ink. After removing the stencil, I applied White Hero Wax over the Circular Grid Stencil, adding a textured grid design. Once dry, I trimmed the panel down by 1/8″ on all sides and matted it with Paradise Cardstock to create a fun border.

To finish the card, I stamped a bold sentiment “merry & bright” from the Offset Holiday Messages using Egyptian Blue Reactive Glitz Ink and then used the coordinating outline stamp in Intensified Black. I cut the sentiment down to a strip and offset a strip of Paradise Cardstock underneath, popping it up on the card front using foam tape to create dimension.
