Card One

Using the Card Kit of the Month, I created a stunning card featuring a cloud-filled sky and a flock of birds perched on a wire.

Hero Studio Card Kit of the Month June 2024

I started by stamping the first layer of clouds using Amethyst Core Ink, then added a second layer of clouds on top using Peony Core Ink. Next, I masked the bottom of the stamped clouds and stamped the same two layers of clouds in the same colors, rotated 180 degrees, onto the bottom of the card panel. This created a beautiful, seamless cloud background.

To create my focal point, I stamped the line stamp and the line of birds stamp from the kit in Intensified Black Ink along the bottom third of the card panel. To add a pop of contrast, I heat embossed the “hello” stamp in white embossing powder onto Pitch Black cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating die. Finally, I attached the sentiment to the card using foam tape, adding a fun dimensional element.

Card Two

For my second card I used the Layering Stencil of the Month, Stacked Houses. This stencil set allows you to create a unique cityscape. I used this stencil to create a beautiful, multicolored arch design.

I ink blended onto Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock each of the four layering stencils in different colors – Deep Ocean, Azalea, Grape Juice, and Nautical Core Inks. Then, I die-cut the panel using the Arches Infinity Dies. To add a touch of contrast, I cut a slightly larger arch from Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock and glued the two pieces together, creating a white border around the ink-blended arch.

To add some dimension, I popped the entire piece up on a Nautical card panel using foam tape. To complete the card, I added a sentiment strip from the Everyday Sentiment Strips, also popped up on foam tape, and a few white iridescent sequins for extra sparkle.
