No Place Like Home

To create my card, I started by stamping three copies of one of the adorable homes from the No Place Like Home stamp set. I then colored each copy of the house using a different Olo marker color — pink, blue, and green. I love how the bright colors add a playful touch to the card!

Next, I cut out each house into a square shape, making sure to leave a small border around each image. I then matted each house onto a square of black cardstock, which helps the colors pop even more. To add some dimension to the card, I popped up each house using foam tape and arranged them in a horizontal line across the center of the card.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed the phrase “Wish we lived closer” onto a piece of black cardstock. The white embossing powder adds such a nice contrast to the black cardstock! I then trimmed the sentiment into a small rectangle and adhered it just below the houses.

I love how this card showcases the beauty of clean and simple cardmaking. By keeping the design minimal and focusing on a few key elements, the card feels calm and modern!

Tip: When creating a clean and simple card try limiting your color palette and using plenty of white space. This helps the eye focus on the main elements of the card and creates a sense of visual balance.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to create something special using the Rain or Shine release. Be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp gallery for more inspiration!
